Brazilian knots are a wonderful investment but they can be time consuming to install, so using inferior quality hair is a waste. Brazilian knots last 3-4 months on average before they need to be redone. They are very secure and can withstand a blowout and high heat. The other benefit is there is NO GLUE used so the removal and maintenance is much easier than fusion.
With Brazilian knots, your hair can be colored and relaxed but color and bleach are very harsh so being careful not to bleach the bonds is important. To remove fusion extensions, the glue bond must be dissolved which means either the hair is re-tipped or thrown away. Brazilian knots are just replaced and moved up.
